We are looking for a postdoctoral Research Assistant to investigate the realization of meaningful nonverbal behavior in embodied conversation agents, with a specific focus on using data-driven approaches to computationally modeling the use of gestures during face-to-face interactions.
The work will specifically explore the relation in human face-to-face interaction between participants’ mental states and their nonverbal behaviour, computationally model that relation using data-driven/machine-learning techniques, work with the team to realise that model in a virtual human and experimentally evaluate its impact in interactions between humans and virtual humans.
The post will be located at the Artificially Intelligent Social Agents Lab (Artisal) at the University of Glasgow.
