The Data Science Institute (DSI) at Columbia University invites applications for the position of a Postdoctoral Research Scientist working with the Natural Language Processing Group.
Full Description and where to apply: https://apply.interfolio.com/119975 <https://apply.interfolio.com/119975>
PROGRAM DETAILS
The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in research on authorship attribution and style transfer approaches for authorship obfuscation, with emphasis on explainable models. For authorship attribution, the model must be able to generate an explanation conveying why a particular person is predicted to be the author, including linguistic features of the document. For style transfer, we are particularly interested in controllable generation models. Positions are for one year and are anticipated to start as soon as possible, with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and continued funding.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful applicant will work with Professor Kathleen McKeown and Dr. Smaranda Muresan, and collaborate with researchers at University of Pennsylvania and Stony Brook University. The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to design novel approaches for the problem, publish papers on the research, and attend PI meetings. The researcher will also help in preparing the Columbia team evaluation system.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications:
Candidates must have a PhD in Computer Science or a related field, with focus on Natural Language Processing.
Experience working on text generation, summarization, discourse and/or explainable models is required.
Preferred qualifications:
