We are looking for two enthusiastic and talented students to join our award-winning international research team at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.
The positions are fully funded by Prof. Milica Gasic’ ERC Starting Grant project DYMO. They come with a competitive salary (EG 13 TV-L; 4,074.30 € to 5,872.94 € monthly gross salary), are full-time and carry no teaching duties.
The goal of the project is to develop the next generation of statistical dialog systems that are dynamically extensible in terms of their knowledge, management and generation. The project also involves building realistic user models and sophisticated reward mechanisms based on cutting edge machine learning and natural language processing methods.
The candidates must hold or be close to obtaining a master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Computational Linguistics or a related field. Some exposure to Natural Language Processing or Machine Learning is desirable. Excellent programming skills are essential. The candidates should be fluent in English with good writing skills. Knowledge of German is not required.
The position is for 3 years. The start date is negotiable.
Düsseldorf is a very cosmopolitan city. It is the capital of the most populous German state, nicely positioned on the Rhein river, with a beautiful old town as well as many other nice quarters.
